Holden Christian Academy has created a unique approach to learning that has proven to be academically effective, exciting and enjoyable for over 25 years. Our learning is Christ-centered and learner sensitive. Classes are small, providing more individual attention and individualized instruction, projects, and ideas. Our students are excited about their learning because they are active participants in it! HCA uses a thematic and experiential approach to learning that has students actively participate in shared learning experiences with their peers (often across the whole student body). We teach using "big picture" concepts that integrate across all subjects. This allows children to learn instead of simply acquire information. But, more importantly, it presents facts that support the concepts and big ideas of life. These concepts connect and provide meaning, reflect values, and provide the superstructure for higher level-thinking through a Biblical world-view.
